Job Overview:

Our client, a private equity backed, lower middle market services company, are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join their dynamic team. This role is pivotal in overseeing all financial aspects of operations and ensuring the integrity of financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to manage multiple priorities, strong systems experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a remote capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls and financial procedures.
  • Coordinate and prepare for audits, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with senior management to drive strategic financial initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior financial management role.
  • Proven track record of managing financial operations in a remote work environment.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial regulations.
  • Experience in a multi-entity environment.
  • M&A integration experience. 
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software, preferably Sage Intaact, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Outstanding communication and leadership abilities.
