ATHENA Finance & Accounting has partnered with a leading food ingredient manufacturer based in the San Fernando Valley in their search for a Cost/Pricing Analyst on a Contract to Hire Basis. The Cost/Pricing Analyst will handle various pricing, costing, and related accounting tasks. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role involves the regular review and updating of product pricing and total costing while maintaining a positive work environment, fostering good relationships both within and outside the company to ensure meeting and enhancing performance standards.

Key responsibilities:

  • Set selling prices for existing products using the unit pricing module, ensuring acceptable margins with input from various departments.
  • Review and update product pricing quarterly or as needed based on market conditions.
  • Review raw materials periodically and prepare analyses to assess price impacts.
  • Present proposed price changes to the Pricing Review Committee quarterly and submit approved changes to customers before the next quarter.
  • Update the Sales Quote System within 24 hours based on new customer orders and Sales Team quotes.
  • Help develop more efficient pricing strategies and processes.
  • Perform cost analysis for manufacturing, packaging, and labor as needed to improve cost monitoring.
  • Collaborate with departments to stay updated on market conditions and adjust pricing based on inventories and supply chain criteria.
  • Update and maintain total unit costs by reviewing monthly purchasing data and market information.
  • Collect and analyze costs of purchased raw materials.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a Standard Material and Labor Costing System.
  • Prepare monthly reports and analysis on cost and pricing trends, detailing changes and their effects on margins.
  • Analyze and report on sales volumes, gross margin calculations, and profitability trends.
  • Assist with monthly accounting close tasks, including COGS reconciliations, inventory journal entries, valuations, disposals, and reserves.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Accounting Degree or related field preferred.)
  • 3+ years’ experience in general and/or cost accounting, preferably in a standard costing environment.
  • Strong skills with ERP and/or MRP systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (e.g., Pivot Tables and V-LOOKUP) and PowerPoint
  • Skilled in managing and working with large databases within integrated systems.
  • Proficient in cost accounting, statistics, charting, modeling, and trend analyses
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and system skills, with a solid understanding of pricing and costing concepts.
  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with various departments.
  • High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in work.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $88,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
