Canadian instrument calibration company is looking for a full time on site Metrologist – CA, BC, ON or QC.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain measurement standards and make sure measurements performed are meaningful and in accordance with international standards.
  • Ensure calibration and testing of various measuring instruments and equipment following standard procedures and guidelines and customer requirements.
  • Identify and troubleshoot calibration issues, providing timely resolutions.
  • Calibration records, customer reports, and documentation.
  • Monitor calibration schedules and coordinate equipment calibration activities.
  • Ensure calibration team maintains efficient workflow and on-time completion of tasks.
  • Technical assessments and root cause analysis of measurement deviations.
  • Technical support to customers re calibration procedures and results.
  • Lead development and improvement of calibration processes and methodologies.
  • Be up-to-date with industry standards and metrology advancements.
  • Compliance with quality management systems and regulatory requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Metrology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Metrologist, preferably in a calibration company or laboratory.
  • Proficiency guiding / conducting calibrations / using measurement tools & equipment.
  • Familiar with Micrometer, Calipers, Straight Edge, Length Standards, Gauge Blocks, Height Gauges,
  • Torque, Temperature, and tension measurements.
  • Able to travel to customer sites for on-site work but primarily in lab location.
  • Strong up to date understanding of metrology principles, standards, and practices.
  • Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and other relevant quality management systems.
  • Familiarity with measurement uncertainty and statistical analysis.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and adhere to strict quality guidelines.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication, people, and time management skills.
  • Adaptable and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to handle calibration equipment and perform precision measurements.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with calibration software.
