Position Overview:

The Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing the quality (QA and QC) systems at the Waco, TX paper manufacturing plant. This role involves managing customer feedback and complaints, ensuring swift resolution, and identifying opportunities for quality control (QC) improvements. The Quality Manager also acts as the primary point of contact between the facility's production team and customers to address any issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee product quality.
• Customer complaints and prompt resolution.
• On site customer visits as required.
• Job assignments and training.
• Responsible for Quality team of up to 5 people.
• All facility trial planning including keeping accurate trial logs.
• Keep FDA-approved chemical list and document control system up to date.
• Take part in departmental meetings and oversee technical lab related activities.
• Maintain frequent communication with Technical Services and Sales.

REQUIREMENTS:

• BS or B.Eng.- 4 year degree.
• 4 to 8 years working in quality manufacturing; min 3 - 4 years as a leader. QA and QC.
• Manage team of up to 5 people.
• Experience in the Paper/Packaging industry is essential.
• Familiarity with test labs.
• Understanding of printing press functionality.
• Dedicated to safety, quality, cost control, productivity, and excellent employee relations.
• Willingness to travel to customer locations as required.
• MS Office and SAP proficiency.
• Ability to participate in an on-call/weekend duty rotation.
• Strong team leadership, organizational, detail oriented, interpersonal, multitasking, communication skills with a Quality mindset.
