Commercial Insurance Representative

Location: Hamilton region, ON – Full-Time, In-Office

Our client, a forward-thinking and growth-oriented agency in Hamilton region, is seeking a Commercial Insurance Representative to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a motivated, supportive group of professionals while building strong relationships and making a meaningful impact on clients’ businesses.

 

About the Role:

As a Commercial Insurance Representative, you will play a key role in servicing commercial accounts, supporting an Insurance Sales Representative, and ensuring clients receive the highest level of care. You’ll help clients manage their risk by tailoring coverage to their unique needs, fostering long-term relationships, and contributing to the agency’s reputation for excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional service to clients by managing their evolving business insurance needs.
  • Support the Insurance Sales Representative in servicing a commercial book of business.
  • Build strong, productive relationships with clients through regular communication and follow-up.
  • Conduct fact-finding discussions to determine clients’ current coverage, financial position, and long-term goals.
  • Work with underwriters to obtain approvals and ensure the proper placement of coverage.
  • Deliver policies, process changes, and handle client inquiries with accuracy and care.
  • Communicate effectively with adjusters to resolve claims-related issues.
  • Stay current on industry knowledge through ongoing education and professional development.
  • Contribute to a positive workplace culture by taking ownership of responsibilities and looking for opportunities to add value.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Good product knowledge and understanding of commercial insurance.
  • Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Client-focused with the ability to build trust and long-term relationships.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Post-secondary education in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field preferred.
  • Active provincial license – OTL or RIBO required.
  • 1–2 years of experience servicing small business commercial accounts.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development (continuing education credits).
