Our client is a global manufacturer specializing in synthetic filaments used in various industries.
They are currently seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to join their team and lead end-to-end logistics, planning, and procurement operations at their facility near Columbia, SC.
The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with hands-on experience in optimizing material planning, inventory control, procurement and logistics within the manufacturing industry.
Summary
As Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for optimizing supply chain strategies and warehouse operations, managing material flows and logistics, and ensuring seamless alignment between production and procurement. This role plays a key part in driving cost-effective, efficient, and quality-focused operations while supporting strategic initiatives and fostering cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities:
Optimize supply chain strategies and logistics processes for efficiency specific to the monofilament manufacturing industry
Manage warehouse operations, material flows, and dispatch processes
Negotiate vendor contracts
Provide strong leadership by cultivating a positive work environment and driving strategic initiatives for procurement and logistics
Manage supplier, manufacturer, and logistics partnerships to ensure timely deliveries
Collaborate with Sales and Production teams to enhance manufacturing processes and resolve issues
Track and assess supply chain metrics to identify improvement opportunities
Forecast demand and manage inventory to align production schedules with optimal stock levels
Ensure compliance with manufacturing quality and safety standards
Monitor and maintain inventory accuracy
Address quality issues with suppliers
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce costs
Prepare and present performance and progress reports to senior management
Ensure compliance with customs
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience will also be considered
5+ years of experience in supply chain management
In-depth knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and supply chain optimization methods
Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills, with a strong track record of building effective relationships
Ability to quickly learn ERP and other required systems, with solid analytical abilities
Understanding of industry regulations and quality standards
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Familiarity with project management methodologies
Experience with advanced manufacturing technologies and techniques
Minimal travel < 10% - Occasional travel to suppliers throughout the year
Strong team player with a self-driven approach to work.
Ability to use hands to grasp, push, pull, fine manipulation, keyboarding
Ability to reach, bend, twist, walk, stand, squat, kneel, balance, climb, reach, run, sit
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
