Our Award-Winning Client, a nationally recognized leader in the aerospace, aviation, and defense industry, is seeking a highly experienced Cost Accounting Senior Manager to lead inventory pegging and distribution functions. This role requires a deep understanding of cost accounting, financial analysis, and internal controls within a manufacturing or operations-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain standard reporting processes to improve transparency on working capital, costs, and profitability.
• Analyze inventory pegging, cost movements, and related financial data, addressing inquiries from internal teams and external auditors.
• Review and oversee journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and inventory-related financial analysis.
• Enhance inventory reporting at the material part level, including labor cost analysis and recalculation of G&A and overhead allocations.
• Lead accounting control functions such as inventory reconciliations, reserve calculations, cycle count tracking, excess capacity analysis, and operational reporting.
• Perform monthly and quarterly variance analysis of inventory balances by product line, ensuring accurate financial classification (RM, WIP, FG).
• Calculate and record intercompany profit-in-inventory (PII) eliminations to ensure compliance with US GAAP.
• Maintain a strong internal control environment, updating control documentation and supporting internal and external audits.
• Identify process improvement opportunities, drive efficiency initiatives, and participate in cross-training efforts.
• Collaborate with Procurement and Operations to enhance financial visibility and strategic decision-making.
• Manage project activities and ad hoc financial analysis as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 12+ years of relevant experience in cost accounting, finance, or a related field (or 10+ years with a graduate degree).
• Strong background in cost accounting, financial controls, and inventory management in a manufacturing or operations-driven environment.
• Experience leading teams, resources, and financial reporting processes.
• Expertise in SAP systems, particularly in pegging and distribution within a complex manufacturing or logistics setting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and delegate effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact across multiple teams.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills, ensuring deadlines are met in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential.
• Internal control expertise and experience working with regulatory compliance.
• Proven ability to adapt to shifting priorities while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
• Service-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal skills.
