Position Overview

The Sr. Quality Officer will oversee critical functions related to quality improvement, regulatory compliance, patient safety, infection control, and policy development. This leadership role requires expertise in healthcare quality management, accreditation processes, and performance improvement methodologies to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead comprehensive quality and patient safety programs, ensuring regulatory and accreditation compliance.
  • Manage infection prevention strategies, implementing best practices for reducing healthcare-associated risks.
  • Direct hospital-wide risk management initiatives, including root cause analysis and mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee the Medical Staff Peer Review process, driving accountability and continuous quality improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to core measures and evidence-based clinical practices, optimizing patient care outcomes.
  • Deliver quality performance reports to executive leadership and governing boards, providing insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Lead the implementation of enterprise-wide quality and safety initiatives, integrating process improvements across departments.
  • Coordinate accreditation and certification processes, ensuring compliance with Joint Commission and other regulatory bodies.
  • Establish and maintain effective policies and procedures aligned with organizational and regulatory expectations.

Candidate Requirements

Must-Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Progressive leadership experience in healthcare quality and safety.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing measurable improvements in healthcare quality.
  • CPHQ and CPPS certifications or willingness to obtain them within one year of employment.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
