A leading international law firm is seeking a Proposal Manager to take ownership of preferred provider Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and other multi-practice proposals. This role collaborates with attorneys, business development managers, pricing teams, compliance, and other internal stakeholders to manage high-value business development opportunities from start to finish.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, dependable, and client-service focused, with the ability to act as a trusted advisor to senior attorneys and business development leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the RFP and multi-practice proposal process from evaluation and planning through submission.
Partner with attorneys, marketing staff, pricing personnel, and other firm departments to develop and execute tailored proposals and presentations.
Serve as project lead for RFP responses, ensuring personnel and information are well-coordinated.
Draft, edit, and assemble proposal content, identifying relevant materials and creating new content when needed.
Develop compelling, differentiating proposal materials.
Coordinate information gathering with research, compliance, HR, IT, and other departments.
Oversee proofing, production, and delivery of final proposal packages.
Advise business development personnel on best practices for pitches and proposals.
Track and report on opportunity outcomes.
Work with leadership to improve tools, templates, and processes for proposal development (e.g., Foundation software, CRM databases).
Ensure proposal content is accurate, updated, and aligned with firm messaging.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement enhancements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Significant prior experience managing proposals, including knowledge of preferred provider RFP processes.
Minimum of five years in marketing, proposals, or related experience.
At least two years in a law firm environment preferred.
Strong client service orientation and ability to build relationships with partners and senior staff.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Superior organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Adaptability to changing priorities and competing deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with marketing databases such as Foundation or CRM systems.
Strong editing skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
CompensationThe anticipated base salary for this position is $120,000 to $170,000. Actual compensation will depend on qualifications, experience, education, certifications, and location.
