Location: Washington, DC or 100% Remote (U.S. based)
We are seeking an Information Security Engineer to support security operations, engineering, and architecture across the enterprise. Reporting to the Manager of Information Security, this role is responsible for strengthening the organization’s security posture, ensuring the integrity and availability of IT infrastructure, and safeguarding sensitive data.
Security Operations
Analyze security logs and events, taking action on risks and incidents using EDR, SIEM, and log aggregation tools.
Manage vulnerability assessments and remediation efforts.
Maintain and support security platforms, including:
Application control, EDR/AV, email security, attack simulation, threat intelligence/hunting, and AI-based security tools.
Support incident response and investigations.
Ensure compliance with policies, standards, and applicable requirements.
Track and report security metrics, events, and remediation activities.
Assist with third-party risk management, compliance efforts, and security awareness training.
Participate in the on-call security rotation.
Security Engineering & Architecture
Evaluate and recommend network and security technologies, standards, and controls.
Review new applications and SaaS requests for security impact.
Participate in the Change Advisory Board (CAB).
Conduct research and recommend solutions to mitigate risk.
Contribute to security policies, standards, and procedures.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
Minimum 3 years of information security or related IT experience with security responsibilities.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of Windows, Unix/Linux, and Active Directory.
Understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS, routing).
Experience in system and network security, authentication, cryptography, application and cloud security.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to leverage AI tools for security tasks.
Strong remote collaboration skills.

Base salary range: $122,000 – $160,000, depending on qualifications, experience, education, certifications, and location.
