Our client, a manufacturer and distributor of industrial laundry equipment for linen service and uniform service plant clients throughout the United States, is seeking a skilled and motivated Software / Application Engineer.

The Software / Application Engineer will support post-installation equipment performance, troubleshoot software and system integration issues, and provide advanced technical assistance to customers and internal teams. This hands-on role includes software configuration, hardware installation, system testing, customer training, and technical support. The ideal candidate is experienced in PLCs, industrial software applications, and mechanical/electrical troubleshooting, with a willingness to travel.

Location: Panama City Beach, FL (Local or relocation candidates preferred. Remote candidates also considered)Travel: Up to 30%

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Pre-assemble, install, and configure computer hardware and software components on industrial laundry equipment to meet customer requirements.
  • Troubleshoot, update, and test existing software programs to ensure proper functionality and resolve errors.
  • Perform system start-up and commissioning procedures at customer sites.
  • Train customers on system operation, basic troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Provide technical support to customers via phone, email, or on-site visits after installation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve technical and system integration issues.
  • Use the internal case handling system to document and report service issues.
  • Assist in developing and refining equipment-related policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Stay current with new technology, system upgrades, and service innovations through training and seminars.
  • Participate in improvement initiatives and offer recommendations for optimizing system performance.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years industrial equipment software applications experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, high/low voltage circuitry, pneumatics, and PLCs.
  • Familiarity with software development tools and languages such as Structured Text, Instruction List, Visual Basic, C++, SQL Server is a plus.
  • A+ or Network+ certification is preferred.
  • Experience with commercial laundry equipment is preferred.
  • Associate degree (or higher) in a technical field.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and configure AC inverters and inverter-driven motors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, including basic networking.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical journals, and equipment manuals.
  • Effective communication skills for presenting technical information to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to Travel - 30% of the year (weekdays) and sometimes on short notice
