Our client is seeking qualified and experienced Plant Production Manager candidates for great opportunity with growing private linen/laundry services company in Baltimore, MD. This high-tech commercial laundry plant provides linen and uniform services to hospitals and healthcare industries.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leading and directing the work of team members on the commercial laundry production floor
  • Work with engineering and maintenance departments to ensure the safe operation and upkeep of all production equipment
  • Ensuring daily production goals and customer deadlines are met
  • Ensuring production of quality products
  • Working with Human Resources - Hiring, training, coaching, and performance management
  • Delegate authority to production supervisors for assigning and prioritizing work activities of staff members and monitoring their work throughout the various departments within the plant
  • Develop production schedules to effectively utilize equipment and direct the work of staff members engaged in receiving, sorting, washing, drying, ironing, folding, counting, packing, weighing, and preparing linen for shipment.
  • Oversee production metrics and develop short-term and long-term goals to maximize efficiencies and reach company productivity standards within budgetary parameters
  • Prepare and complete production reports that measure performance, productivity levels, quality control, and budgetary reports and submit to company executives as needed
  • Ensure attendance and productivity and quality standards are maintained and that linen products are handled properly throughout the plant
  • Conduct meetings daily with production supervisors and weekly with staff members

Requirements:

  • 3+ years managerial experience in a fast-paced production environment
  • Commercial laundry experience is required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred
  • Prior experience working in a union environment is a plus
  • A leader with demonstrated success in team building, preferably in a diverse population
  • The ability to supervise activities on the production floors as well as pull up his/her sleeves to trouble shoot production issues and perform production support when required
  • Computer savvy – ability to use client’s enterprise software, basic spreadsheets, payroll software, etc.
