Job DescriptionThe Litigation Legal Assistant supports the litigation team and plays a vital role in case preparation, client communication, and case management.
- Draft demand letters, review client documents, and coordinate follow-up
- Prepare exhibits, trial notebooks, and discovery materials
- Review and prepare liens for attorney review
- E-file pleadings and record documents
- Download and organize court pleadings
- Open and close case files electronically
- Handle communication with clients (written and verbal)
- Maintain case status reports and calendars
- Track court deadlines and update task lists
- Support attorneys with proformas and editing
- Assist with small claims court filings
- Manage office scanning, copying, and mailing
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of office experience. 1 year experience law firm experience is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Word
- Prior experience with case management and billing systems preferred
- Strong written, verbal, and electronic communication skills
- Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks
- Excellent grammar and writing skills
- Comfortable working on a computer for extended periods
- Ability to lift 10+ pounds and file documents overhead
