Position Overview

A reputable medical facility in Southern New Mexico is seeking a Radiation Therapist to join its growing oncology department. This full-time position is responsible for administering radiation treatments in accordance with the oncologist’s prescription and established treatment protocols. The ideal candidate will possess both technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills to ensure optimal patient care and safety during radiation therapy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate radiation therapy equipment safely and accurately to deliver prescribed treatment doses

  • Perform simulations and assist with the fabrication of treatment devices

  • Conduct daily QA checks on linear accelerators and CT simulation equipment

  • Maintain detailed and accurate records using EMR systems for treatment delivery and patient positioning

  • Collaborate with physicians and clinical teams to coordinate care and scheduling

  • Educate and comfort patients by explaining procedures and fostering a supportive environment

  • Remain calm and composed in high-stress situations and demonstrate effective problem-solving

  • Be flexible to participate in on-call duties as needed

  • Adhere to department and regulatory safety protocols for radiation handling and exposure

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program

  • Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy

  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of New Mexico

  • CPR certification (required)

  • Knowledge of radiation safety practices and operation of ionizing radiation equipment

Preferred Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in a clinical radiation oncology setting

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary environment

Compensation & Benefits

Estimated Salary Range: $70,000 – $96,000 (based on experience)Relocation Assistance: Up to $10,000 available for eligible candidatesSigning Bonus: Offered
