Trick Dog Technology is seeking a skilled Power Apps Developer to lead the development of a Microsoft Power App that automates two critical manual processes for our client: Accident Reporting and Approval of External Vendors. In this role, you will manage the entire project lifecycle—from planning and design through implementation, validation, and release—ensuring an efficient, user-friendly solution that streamlines reporting and vendor management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning & Discovery:

    • Collaborate with project teams to establish project resourcing, conduct client kickoffs (requirements and scope review, scheduling, environment access, communication planning, and licensing), and perform environment discovery.
    • Assist in creating a technical project deployment and testing plan.
  • Application Design:

    • Document detailed functional and non-functional requirements for both applications.
    • Identify key users, define roles, and establish data requirements and structure.
    • Facilitate workshops to define business rules and usage scenarios.
  • Application Implementation:

    • Accident Reporting App:
      • Develop a user interface that allows employees to submit detailed accident reports using up to 10 input fields.
      • Implement a workflow for supervisor review and management.
      • Integrate with a database to securely store and retrieve accident data.
    • Approval of External Vendors App:
      • Create a user interface for submitting vendor approval requests (up to 10 fields).
      • Develop a workflow for managers to review, approve, or reject vendor requests.
      • Integrate with a database to maintain comprehensive records of vendor approvals and rejections.
  • Validation & Testing:

    • Conduct integration testing to ensure seamless workflow between applications.
    • Oversee user acceptance testing (UAT) with key stakeholders and resolve any issues identified.
  • Release & Training:

    • Lead training sessions and provide knowledge transfer to key users and administrators.
    • Document the deployment process and produce support materials.
    • Deliver final project artifacts, including an As Built Document, secure transmission of project accounts/passwords, and product reference links (URLs).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience developing business applications using Microsoft Power Apps and the broader Power Platform (Power Automate, Power BI).
  • Strong background in UI/UX design, workflow automation, and data integration within Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering user-centric solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant Microsoft Power Platform certifications.
  • Prior experience in automating business processes such as incident reporting and vendor management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects through all phases of the software development lifecycle in a collaborative team environment.
