We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Intune Implementation Consultant to lead the deployment, configuration, and optimization of Intune and related infrastructure components for a municipal IT environment. This role will focus on assessing the current configuration, enhancing security and compliance, optimizing policies, and improving operational efficiency. The consultant will collaborate with stakeholders to align the implementation with the organization’s IT strategy and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Phase 1 – Assessment & Analysis:

• Review Current Configuration:
  • Inspect Intune tenant settings, including device enrollment policies, compliance policies, application protection policies, and Conditional Access policies in Azure AD.
  • Evaluate integration with onsite services such as Active Directory and SCCM/MECM.
• Assess Security & Compliance Posture:
  • Review security baselines and adherence to municipal IT policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Inspect data protection settings, including encryption, remote wipe, and app protection.
• Device Inventory & Usage Review:
  • Analyze enrolled devices based on operating system, device type, and compliance status.
  • Identify gaps in enrollment and issues with BYOD or unmanaged devices.
• App Management Review:
  • Assess the deployment, configuration, and licensing of managed applications.
  • Evaluate app protection policies to ensure security and compliance.
• Stakeholder Interviews:
  • Engage IT staff and department representatives to gather insights on pain points, operational needs, and desired outcomes.
• Document Findings:
  • Summarize key observations regarding configuration, security, usability, and compliance.
  • Highlight issues impacting the effectiveness of the Intune deployment.

Phase 2 – Consultation & Optimization:

• Policy Optimization:
  • Recommend improvements to device enrollment, compliance, and app protection policies.
  • Develop a strategy for addressing BYOD challenges and unmanaged devices.
• Security Enhancements:
  • Propose advanced security measures, such as Conditional Access refinements, MFA, and zero-trust principles.
  • Recommend updates to align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Operational Efficiency Improvements:
  • Identify opportunities to streamline device and app management processes.
  • Suggest automation for repetitive tasks, such as policy application and compliance monitoring.
• Scalability & Future Growth:
  • Provide a roadmap for scaling the Intune implementation as the city’s needs evolve.
  • Recommend additional Microsoft 365 and Endpoint Manager features such as Autopilot and analytics.
• Training & Documentation:
  • Provide training guidance for IT staff on managing Intune effectively.
  • Suggest documentation templates for ongoing management and troubleshooting.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Extensive experience with Microsoft Intune, Endpoint Manager, and Azure AD
• Strong knowledge of device enrollment, compliance, Conditional Access, and app protection policies
• Experience integrating Intune with Active Directory, SCCM/MECM, and Microsoft 365
• Expertise in security frameworks, compliance policies, and zero-trust principles
• Proven ability to assess IT environments, identify challenges, and recommend optimizations
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to train IT teams and document best practices
