We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Google Cloud Engineer to join our team supporting critical Federal Government projects, including initiatives with the CDC and U.S. Navy. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and securing Google Cloud Platform (GCP) solutions as part of a multi-cloud enrollment project. You will collaborate closely with a team of cloud engineers to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable cloud infrastructure for mission-critical workloads.

This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in public health and national defense while working with the latest cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage Google Cloud Platform infrastructure for multi-cloud projects.

  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) templates using Deployment Manager, Terraform, or similar tools.

  • Implement automation, CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management for GCP workloads.

  • Integrate GCP services with AWS and Azure for multi-cloud solutions.

  • Ensure compliance with Federal security frameworks (FedRAMP, NIST, DISA STIGs).

  • Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues to maintain reliability and uptime.

  • Document architectures, processes, and runbooks for operational continuity.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams, security, and project stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizen (required for Federal project eligibility).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Google Cloud Certification (one of the following is required):

    • Professional Cloud Architect

    • Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer

    • Professional Cloud Security Engineer

  • 4+ years of experience designing and managing workloads on GCP (Compute Engine, VPC, Cloud Functions, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, IAM, etc.).

  • Expertise with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or Deployment Manager).

  • Solid understanding of GCP networking, IAM, and security best practices.

  • Experience supporting production systems in an enterprise or government setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Secret Clearance
  • Experience supporting Federal Government agencies (CDC, DoD, Navy preferred).

  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, HIPAA, FISMA, and NIST 800-53.

  • Experience with Anthos, Kubernetes (GKE), and container orchestration.

  • Knowledge of multi-cloud architecture and cross-cloud integrations.

  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Go, Bash).

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

  • Comfortable collaborating in a fast-paced, distributed team environment.

  • Ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge growth.
