Responsible for the end-to-end survey, design, installation, configuration, and testing of VoIP, PBX, and PA systems at educational facilities. Ensures compliance with applicable codes, LAUSD specifications, and project documentation requirements.
\nKey Responsibilities:
\nConduct site surveys for PBX, phones, and PA systems; document inventory, wiring, and circuit conditions.
\nTest, configure, and document PBX, phone extensions, and PA system performance.
\nEngineer and specify IP addressing, VLANs, dial plans, and network/PA equipment.
\nPrepare bills of materials (BOMs) for VoIP, PA, and cabling infrastructure.
\nStage, preconfigure, and label phones, servers, switches, and PA equipment before deployment.
\nInstall routers, VoIP phones, PA racks, switches, UPS systems, and associated cabling.
\nIntegrate PA systems with fire alarms, clocks, bells, and telephone systems.
\nPerform end-to-end testing, acceptance, and documentation closeout.
\nProvide basic user training on phones, PA systems, and bell scheduling.
\nQualifications:
\nExperience with VoIP and PBX systems (CUCM preferred), PA systems, and network equipment.
\nKnowledge of cabling standards, impedance testing, and network infrastructure.
\nFamiliarity with fire alarm, bell, and master clock integrations a plus.
\nAbility to follow detailed engineering checklists, produce documentation, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
