Installation Technician 2 Job Summary

The Installation Technician 2 is responsible for executing installation tasks for contracted projects. This includes, but is not limited to, pulling and terminating cables, assembling and wiring system equipment and components, fabricating and wiring racks, and planning layouts for equipment and metal fabrication. The role may also require leading and directing installation crews on less complex projects, coordinating efforts, and reporting progress to the Project Manager to ensure time, scope, budget, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction objectives are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform installation tasks and provide client training as outlined in the project scope and directives.
• Lead and oversee Level 1 Technicians to ensure high-quality work.
• Interpret and work from system schematics, architectural drawings, and construction blueprints.
• Use hand and power tools to complete tasks such as soldering, crimping connectors, and other AV system-related activities.
• Test point-to-point cabling and system functionality.
• Manage, track, and secure all equipment and tools at the job site.
• Coordinate with office staff to process return material authorizations as required.
• Provide daily job site status updates to the Project Manager.
• Act as the on-site customer liaison within the scope of the project, directing change requests to the Project Manager for approval and further instruction.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with other trades on-site.
• Travel to various job sites as needed.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Knowledge:

• Proficiency in complex wiring configurations and signal flow for audio, video, control, and network systems.
• Familiarity with using specialized test equipment for AV applications.
• Understanding and application of industry-standard safety codes and installation standards.
• Ability to lead site teams for smaller-scale projects.

Experience:

• 2–4 years of audiovisual installation experience required.
