Electrical Controls Engineer or Electrical Technician with experience in production and high-speed material handling equipment for an innovative high-tech start-up in Markle, IN.Electrical Controls Engineer

Responsibilities:

    • Design and troubleshoot electrical systems and program controls for high-speed precision material handling equipment.
    • Understand and adjust designs based on production impact.
    • Develop HMI control screens and systems.
    • Direct and coordinate construction, installation, maintenance, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications and codes.
    • Integrate new technologies into equipment and processes.
    • Perform continuous improvement activities.
    • Design, populate, and wire control cabinets.
    • Develop, document, and follow production processes.
    • Support maintenance, operations, and quality with repairs/redesigns.

Requirements:

    • B.S. or A.S. degree in electrical engineering, electrical engineering technology, or equivalent.
    • Experience in a manufacturing production environment.
    • Ability to design, program, and troubleshoot industrial PLC electrical systems, VFDs, conveyors, motor controls, etc.
    • Experience with Allen Bradley controls, Studio 5000, and FactoryTalk View.
    • Problem-solving skills and understanding of the impact on operations.
    • Basic networking knowledge.
    • Understanding of manufacturing processes and material handling equipment controls.
    • Strong aptitude in math and physics.
    • Ability to safely use hand tools such as meters, wrenches, drills, saws, etc.
    • Effective communication with operators and vendors.
    • Hands-on, willing to climb stairs, use lifts and harnesses, etc.
    • Work around loud machinery requiring hearing protection, hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, etc.
Electrical Technician

Responsibilities:

    • Build and wire electrical control cabinets.
    • Assist in the design and population of control cabinets.
    • Support the installation and maintenance of electrical systems.
    • Perform troubleshooting and repairs on electrical systems.
    • Follow production processes and document work.
    • Collaborate with engineers and other team members to ensure compliance with specifications and codes.
    • Participate in continuous improvement activities.

Requirements:

    • Relevant technical education or equivalent experience.
    • Hands-on experience in building and wiring electrical control cabinets.
    • Basic understanding of electrical systems and controls.
    • Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively.
    • Good communication skills.
    • Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment with loud machinery and safety requirements.
