Currently seeking a hands-on Electrical Controls Engineer with production and high-speed material handling equipment experience for an innovative high-tech start-up in Markle, IN.
 
You will plan, develop/design, program, and execute electrical systems and controls for innovative high-speed material handling equipment with precision instrumentation, and work with ongoing troubleshooting, improvement to production processes, development and integration of new technologies, while supporting mechanical engineering, software, and maintenance teams.
 
Electrical Controls Engineer Tasks:
  • Designs and troubleshoot electrical systems and program controls for high-speed precision material handling equipment
  • Understand the impact of the design on the production, and adjust accordingly
  • Develop HMI control screens and systems
  • Direct and coordinate construction, installation, maintenance, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, etc.
  • Integrate new technologies into equipment and processes
  • Perform continuous improvement activities
  • Design, populate, and wire control cabinets
  • Develop, document, and follow production processes
  • Support maintenance, operations, and quality with repairs/redesigns
 
Electrical Controls Engineer Requirements:
  • B.S. or A.S. degree in electrical engineering, electrical engineering technology, or equivalent.
  • Must have experience in a manufacturing production environment 
  • Must be able to design, program, and troubleshoot industrial PLC electrical systems, VFDs, conveyors, motor controls, etc.
  • Must have Allen Bradley controls, Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk View experience 
  • Must be able to problem solve and understand the impact of their work on operations and make adjustments
  • Must understand networking basics
  • Fundamental understanding of manufacturing processes and material handling equipment controls
  • Understand Engineering Design Principles with a strong aptitude in math and physics.
  • Ability to safely and effectively use hand tools such as meters, wrenches, drills, saws, etc.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with operators and vendors
  • Must be hands-on, willing to climb stairs, use lift and harness, etc.
  • Work around loud machinery requiring hearing protection, hard hat, safety glasses, steel toed shoes, etc.
