Distribution Supervisor

We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Distribution Supervisor to lead our Shipping and Receiving team of 8–10 employees. This highly visible, fast-paced role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a collaborative and supportive leadership environment. The ideal candidate will be a change agent and visionary, capable of transforming operations through strong leadership, continuous improvement, and the implementation of key performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise the Shipping and Receiving team (8–10 employees), ensuring daily execution of all distribution activities.

  • Foster a safety-first culture by enforcing safety policies, conducting audits, and implementing corrective actions as needed.

  • Build a high-performing team through leadership, motivation, coaching, and professional development.

  • Promote and implement Lean methodologies and Six Sigma tools to drive efficiency, reduce waste, and streamline operations.

  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to measure productivity, quality, and service levels.

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, leading initiatives that enhance workflow, accuracy, and on-time delivery.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Purchasing, Production, and Customer Service to ensure seamless communication and support of business goals.

  • Manage departmental budget and ensure efficient use of labor and resources within budgetary guidelines.

  • Lead regular team meetings and one-on-ones to communicate company goals, recognize performance, and identify development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in distribution, warehousing, and logistics.

  • Proven experience in developing and managing KPIs, metrics, and performance dashboards.

  • Strong background and passion for continuous improvement and change management.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams through change while achieving measurable operational results.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
