A leading AmLaw 100 firm is seeking a talented Mid-Level Associate Attorney to join its distinguished Trusts & Estates Practice Group in Seattle. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with a high-caliber team advising ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, and closely held businesses on sophisticated estate, tax, and succession planning strategies.
Candidate Profile
JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
Active Bar Admission in Washington or eligibility to waive in.
2–4 years of substantive experience in trusts and estates law.
Experience in estate planning for high-net-worth individuals, trust and estate administration, and preparation of federal estate tax returns.
Exposure to business succession planning, charitable giving, and implementation of complex tax strategies.
Tax Background: An LL.M. in Taxation is strongly preferred, but not required.
Prior experience at a boutique trusts & estates firm or within a dedicated practice group at a larger law firm.
Soft Skills: Excellent writing and analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex strategies to clients with clarity and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Estate Planning: Advise clients on sophisticated estate planning strategies, including wealth transfer, gift planning, and family governance.
Administration: Manage trust and estate administration, including preparation of estate tax returns and probate filings.
Strategic Tax Planning: Implement advanced tax planning techniques for high-net-worth families and closely held business owners.
Succession Planning: Work on multi-generational wealth planning and business succession strategies.
Client Communication: Interact directly with clients, financial advisors, and fiduciaries to deliver thoughtful, tailored legal counsel.
Collaboration: Work closely with partners and colleagues across related practice groups to offer seamless client service.
