Our client, an AmLaw 100 firm with a strong global presence, is seeking a skilled Labor & Employment Attorney to join its Washington, DC office in a salaried, non-partnership track role. This position offers a reduced billable hour target and the opportunity to work on sophisticated employment matters for high-profile clients within a collaborative and supportive environment.
Candidate Profile
JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
Active Bar Admission in DC, in good standing.
Attorneys without DC bar admission will be considered on the condition they obtain admission within the 1st year of employment.
5+ years of substantive experience in employment litigation and counseling.
Litigation Expertise: Significant experience managing employment litigation, including drafting pleadings, managing discovery, negotiating with opposing counsel, and arguing motions in court.
Client Counseling: Strong background advising clients on employment law compliance, risk mitigation, internal policies, and workplace disputes.
Experience with traditional labor law and labor-management relations is a plus.
Soft Skills: Excellent research, writing, case management, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to take initiative and independently manage cases and client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Handle a broad range of employment litigation matters, including discrimination, wage and hour, and wrongful termination claims.
Advise employers on personnel policies, workplace investigations, employee discipline, compliance issues, and litigation risk.
Represent clients before federal and state courts, administrative agencies, and arbitral forums.
Collaborate with colleagues across practice groups to deliver well-rounded and strategic legal advice.
