LABOR & EMPLOYMENT ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY

Our client, an international AmLaw 100 law firm, is seeking a skilled Associate Attorney to join its Labor & Employment Practice in DC. This is an exciting opportunity for a mid-level associate to handle complex employment litigation and counseling matters while working alongside a highly regarded team of practitioners in a dynamic and collegial environment.

 

 

Candidate Profile

  • JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record
  • Active Bar Admission in the District of Columbia, in good standing (or eligibility to waive in)
  • 4–6 years of substantive experience in employment litigation and counseling
  • Litigation Expertise: Significant experience managing employment litigation, including drafting pleadings, managing discovery, negotiating with opposing counsel, and arguing motions in court
  • Ability to provide practical and strategic advice to employers on workplace policies, compliance, investigations, and risk mitigation
  • Experience with traditional labor law and labor-management relations is a plus
  • Prior experience at a large law firm and/or with class actions is highly preferred
  • Soft Skills: Excellent research, writing, case management, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to take initiative and independently manage cases and client relationships
 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and litigate a broad range of employment matters, including discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, wage and hour, and retaliation claims
  • Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, and briefs, and argue motions before federal and state courts
  • Advise clients on employment law compliance, internal investigations, workplace disputes, and personnel policies
  • Collaborate with colleagues across practice groups to deliver comprehensive, client-focused legal solutions
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and responsiveness

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive Salary: Annual base salary is expected to range from $310,000 – $390,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and market factors
