This key contributor is responsible for assisting business clients in identifying their needs, determining the insurance options that provide the best value for their operations, and then growing and maintaining the relationship over time. This position requires proactive service to maintain and build customer loyalty.

How You Will Contribute

  • Inform and educate clients about policy coverage, changes, exclusions, and insurance needs.

  • Pre-qualify and analyze prospective business clients according to agency standards.

  • Prepare, complete, and submit applications to carriers; develop summaries, proposals, and provide technical support in coordination with Producer(s); and follow up with carriers and clients.

  • Review policies and all documentation for accuracy and quality standards.

  • Assist clients with coverage changes, certificate requests, binders, and endorsements, using each contact as an opportunity to review needs and cross-sell appropriate services.

  • Responsible for existing client account review and renewal process, including client contact, remarketing, and proposals.

  • Actively seek referrals from current clients and utilize internal databases to generate new business.

  • Cross-sell additional business services and refer clients to personal and financial services teams.

  • Manage non-renewals and cancellation requests to retain business where appropriate.

  • Stay informed regarding industry developments, new products, legislation, coverages, and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance.

  • Utilize current computer system functions, input procedures, and agency management software effectively to expedite client service.

What You Need to Bring to the Table

  • Strong customer service focus with a highly professional attitude and approach to business.

  • Knowledge of commercial insurance markets and products, including rating procedures, coverages, and industry operations, to effectively manage and maintain assigned clients and prospects.

  • Excellent computer skills with knowledge of agency management software and insurance rating software.

  • Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities in a fast-paced team environment.
