Under general direction, the Global Technical Sales Manager – Specialty Segment is a key technical resource within the commercial organization. While passionate about sales, this role focuses on the technical aspects of the sales process. This position is responsible for managing the technical sales activities globally for the Specialty Segment, including associated product lines and technology packages. This role is critical in supporting strategic sales growth initiatives and guiding technical elements throughout the sales cycle in collaboration with the broader sales organization.

Duties:

Including but not limited to:

Build strong and credible technical expertise by focusing on:

·        Actively supporting sales activities, including customer technology needs assessments, alignment with engineering standards, technology selection, product sizing, and strategic account planning.

·        Advocating for, coaching, and delivering training on the segment, product lines, and specific technologies.

·        Supporting sales growth initiatives and proposal development in a collaborative, team-selling approach with Sales Managers and Sales Support Operations.

·        Engaging directly with customers through face-to-face interactions, offering technical input across the markets served.

·        Building strong relationships and communication pathways within customer organizations, with emphasis on Corporate Engineering and Plant Operations.

·        Contributing to conference strategies through technical presentations and booth support.

·        Staying current on industry trends and technical developments to ensure ongoing relevance and expertise.

·        Identifying customer needs and recommending appropriate technology or service solutions.

·        Clearly articulating the value and advantages of the company’s technology offerings.

·        Gathering and coordinating data and technical recommendations for Sales and Sales Operations.

·        Assisting in the resolution of customer issues related to products, projects, or services, as needed.

Segment and Product Line Development:

·        Collaborating with the Global Segment Commercial Lead, Engineering, and other Technical Sales Product Managers to develop cohesive, standardized global product offerings.

·        Driving product offering strategies in coordination with Segment Leads and Engineering Managers.

·        Developing testing protocols for customer pilot work, serving as a key liaison to R&D and Innovation teams.

·        Creating and maintaining standard sales toolkits, including sizing tools, process flow diagrams, mass balances, and a library of technical sales presentations.

·        Assisting in the development of marketing collateral for product lines and new innovations.

·        Supporting technology-related discussions to help close deals efficiently and professionally.

·        Contributing to the achievement of sales goals by supporting Sales, Sales Support, and Aftermarket teams.

·        Collaborating cross-functionally and globally; serving as a primary technical point of contact for Aftermarket commercial support, connecting inquiries with Sales and Engineering teams.

·        Demonstrating a deep understanding of technology/service value and total cost of ownership (TCO).

·        Supporting new innovation launches with technical training and guidance.

·        Contributing to the development of customer field reports following site visits.

·        Performing other related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

 

·        Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.

·        10+ years of engineering or operations experience, ideally in Oilseeds Crushing, Protein Concentrates, Vegetable Oil Refining, Palm Processing, Biodiesel, or Oleo-chemical industries.

·        Experience with solids handling systems and technical sales support.

·        Strong desire to win with high integrity and ethical standards.

·        Entrepreneurial mindset with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·        Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.

·        Ability to manage competing priorities under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.

·        Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, co-workers, and vendors.

·        Well-developed presentation and customer engagement skills.

·        Familiarity with CRM systems preferred.

·        Process modeling experience (ChemCad, Aspen) a plus.

·        Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).

·        Fluent in English; additional European or Asian language skills preferred but not required.

·        Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
