Ascension Search Partners has been engaged by a private equity backed consumer goods company to hire their Director of FP&A. The Director of FP&A leads the financial planning, analysis, and reporting functions within the organization. As a key member of the leadership team, this role partners with senior management to provide strategic financial insights, drive business performance, and ensure alignment with organizational goals. Key responsibilities include managing budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and performance analysis, as well as preparing presentations for leadership and the Board. This role will guide the development of financial strategies, optimize costs, and provide actionable insights to support decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead financial strategy execution, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, providing variance analysis and commentary.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to forecast performance and inform strategic decisions.
  • Support CFO in the preparation of annual financial plans and reports.
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization and recommend actions to achieve financial objectives.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (sales, operations, HR) to align financial goals with business strategies.
  • Drive continuous improvement in FP&A processes, tools, and systems.
  • Communicate financial performance transparently to senior management and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in finance, with a preference for a foundation in accounting.
  • Strong financial modeling, analytical, and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in data analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and financial software.
  • Experience in mergers & acquisitions, financial restructuring, and PE-backed companies is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Advanced understanding of financial statements, including balance sheets and cash flow.
  • Expertise in financial forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis.
  • Ability to influence business decisions through data-driven insights.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and financial software applications.
