Ascension Search Partners is conducting a confidential search on behalf of a highly regarded, private equity-backed market leader. This rapidly growing, middle-market company is seeking a dynamic Manager, FP&A – Field Business Partner to join its team. This strategic role offers exposure to mergers and acquisitions, high growth potential, and the opportunity to collaborate closely with leadership to drive operational and financial excellence.

Role OverviewThe Manager, FP&A – Field Business Partner will provide financial leadership and support to a designated region, including close collaboration with the Regional Vice President and Branch Managers. This position will focus on delivering actionable financial insights, ensuring accurate forecasting and budgeting, and partnering with operational teams to drive growth and profitability. Reporting to the VP of Finance, this critical role aligns financial strategies with operational goals to achieve regional success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead regional financial planning and analysis, including weekly outlooks, monthly forecasts, and annual budgets.
  • Deliver comprehensive profitability analyses, identifying risks and opportunities to support informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate with regional and branch leadership to drive key financial initiatives, including yield management, volume growth, and labor productivity.
  • Develop and sustain robust forecasting processes with a focus on revenue growth and margin expansion.
  • Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Manage unbilled revenue and backlog to ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition.
  • Drive working capital improvements, including A/R collection and capital expenditure reviews.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Operations, HR, IT, and other teams to enhance financial acumen and leverage FP&A insights.
  • Support regular operating reviews by preparing and presenting results for the region.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to optimize operational efficiency and profitability.

Candidate Profile

  • 8+ years of progressive financial management experience, including partnering with operations in a high-growth environment.
  • Strong ability to build relationships and collaborate across all organizational levels, with demonstrated emotional intelligence.
  • Proven expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling within a multi-branch network.
  • Deep understanding of key investment metrics (e.g., IRR, ROI) and operational drivers of profitability.
  • Experience with Private Equity, Venture Capital, or other high-growth environments is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in financial systems such as Power BI, Tableau, and relational databases; SQL experience is a plus.
  • Solid knowledge of GAAP principles and project accounting practices, including revenue recognition.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of conveying complex financial concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA/MACC) preferred.
