A top-10 AmLaw firm is seeking an Employment Counseling Associate Attorney to join its high-performing Employment Group. This role offers the opportunity to advise major domestic and multinational clients on complex employment matters, including cross-border counseling, global policy development, workforce management, and the employment aspects of corporate transactions.

 

 

Candidate Profile

  • JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record
  • Active Bar Admission in the applicable jurisdiction, in good standing
  • 3+ years of substantive employment counseling experience, preferably international counseling
  • Experience advising on employment policies, practices, and compliance matters across jurisdictions
  • Background conducting employment diligence for corporate transactions, including cross-border deals
  • Experience drafting and negotiating employment, retention, and related agreements
  • Direct and applicable AmLaw 100 experience strongly preferred
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage complex, multi-jurisdictional information
  • Sound business judgment and the ability to provide clear, practical guidance
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team
  • Professionalism, responsiveness, and confidence when interacting with clients ranging from emerging companies to major multinational enterprises

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct employment-related diligence for domestic and international corporate transactions
  • Advise clients on global and cross-border employment policies and best practices
  • Draft and negotiate employment agreements, restrictive covenants, retention arrangements, and related documentation
  • Counsel employers on workforce transitions, reductions in force, and employee mobility
  • Provide day-to-day employment law counseling to U.S. and multinational clients
  • Prepare clear, concise memoranda analyzing complex employment issues
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues across multiple U.S. and international offices
  • Support clients with timely, strategic guidance designed to mitigate risk and promote compliance
  • Contribute to pro bono initiatives aligned with the firm’s global community-engagement mission

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive Compensation: Annual base salary is expected to range from $235,000 – $435,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and market factors
  • Discretionary bonus opportunities are also available
