Our client is an industry leader in automotive paint finishing and assembly, crafting both exterior and interior paints for numerous OEM and Tier 1 suppliers. They take pride in a quality system that epitomizes flexibility, versatility, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. 

They are seeking a Paint Technical Manager for their plant in Greenville, SC. 

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technical leader with paint process experience in an automotive environment. 

 

Summary: 

As the Paint Technical Manager you will oversee daily operations, act as the liaison between staff and upper management, and work closely with your team to maximize customer satisfaction. 

 

Tasks: 

  • Supervise and direct all paint team leads to ensure manufacturing capabilities and process are in place to meet or exceed all industry and customer requirements for cost, quality, on time delivery, and responsiveness. 

  • Manage the operation of the facility, including customer-facing and back areas 

  • Manage staff members, assign tasks, and provide ongoing training and coaching to employees. 

  • Responsible for stopping the process to correct processing issues if necessary 

  • Manage maintenance of all tooling. 

  • Launch new products alongside the Project Management department from PPAP to Production. 

  • Drive lean manufacturing to reduce waste and enhance productivity 

  • Maintain proper records and backup documentation. 

  • Communicate to all levels of the organization. 

  • Introduce or recommend changes to work methods, aligned with IATF16949:2016 and ISO9001:2015 methodology. 

 

Requirements: 

  • 5+ years in Automotive manufacturing (plastics). 

  • 5+ years of paint processing experience. 

  • Strong paint application experience.  

  • Knowledge of core tools especially flow charts, PFMEAs, and control plans.  

  • Ability to read and understand part and tool drawings. 

  • Strong leadership skills. 

  • Robot programming experience preferred.
