What You’ll Be Contributing:The Environmental Engineer or Environmental Specialist will be responsible for managing water and wastewater environmental permitting and compliance activities, specifically under the ND Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Program. You will ensure adherence to facility permits and regulations, while developing strategies for compliance with new environmental rules. This role will also involve collaboration with various plant departments and participation in environmental project teams.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Perform environmental permitting and compliance activities for water/wastewater systems
  • Ensure compliance with facility permits, rules, and regulations
  • Develop strategies to meet new environmental regulations
  • Manage programs such as TRI, SPCC, TSCA, and SARA Tier II
  • Lead water/wastewater construction projects
  • Provide environmental training to plant personnel
  • Participate on cross-departmental project teams

You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Geological, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering (other science-related degrees considered)
  • Experience in environmental programs within the utility sector preferred (especially water/wastewater management)
  • Strong understanding of environmental regulations and compliance
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
