What You’ll Be Contributing:As the Environmental Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing the environmental management program at the plant, ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations. You will also work to advance environmental strategies that improve performance, foster best practices, and support long-term environmental objectives, including the plant’s waste-derived fuels system.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for regulatory agencies and community stakeholders on environmental matters
  • Conduct environmental audits, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions
  • Administer air quality reporting and renewals
  • Coordinate and manage stack testing activities, approving reports and ensuring compliance
  • Oversee environmental monitoring systems, performing regular audits and maintaining data acquisition systems
  • Collaborate with the Waste Fuels Manager and Manager of Environmental Affairs on daily operations and training
  • Lead compliance efforts related to environmental permits and applicable laws
  • Maintain required licenses and certifications for plant environmental compliance, including licenses for Wastewater Facility Operators and compliance with APC&EC Regulation No. 23, section 264.16(f)
  • Provide guidance and support to other sites and assist regulatory agencies by providing necessary information and reports

You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in environmental engineering or a related field
  • 7 years of experience in the environmental management field
  • Proven expertise in cement, mining, or heavy industry preferred
  • Strong working relationship with regulatory agencies
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams effectively

Candidate Details:

  • 7+ years of experience in environmental management, preferably in heavy industry (steel, cement, mining, etc.)
  • Management experience preferred but not mandatory
  • Bachelor's Degree in environmental engineering or related field
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
  • Ideal candidate has hands-on experience in manufacturing environments
