AccuMed is a unique healthcare data company who serves a variety of different clients. We work with personal injury attorneys, plaintiff attorneys, life care planners, and defense attorneys to help establish an understanding and reasonable value of healthcare costs using historical data from our curated collection of 3 billion medical records. 

AccuMed is looking to grow our team through adding an experienced medical coder with an analytical mindset and excellent customer service skills. If you have a strong medical coding background and are looking to apply it in a unique way, we want to work with you! 

Responsibilities:

  • Acquire and evaluate medical documentation in order to conduct healthcare cost analyses (past and future) for clients

    • Interpret medical bills and records to prepare, analyze, and develop reportable, substantiated evaluation of medical coding compliance and correlated billing charges

    • Investigate missing components of data to determine and carry out additional processes

    • Ensure medical coding compliance

    • Identify, analyze, and interpret patterns within complex medical data

  • Interpret data, analyze results, and provide ongoing reports to clients

    • Research and implement all medical coding guidance

  • Maintain effective communication with clients through report status updates, prompt responsiveness, consistent outreach and follow-up

    • Engage in frequent phone communication with paralegals and attorneys reviewing medical coding compliance and analysis results

  • Process, generate and edit documents at non-expert and expert levels

  • Maintain and update internal program components

  • Utilize client feedback and expert experiences to adjust and improve systems and products

  • Collaborate in development of new products, subscription services, and expert network growth

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to improve business operations and efficiencies, as well as to strategize product development, client relationships, and workflows 

Skills and/or Qualifications (not limited to):

  • Strong knowledge of and experience with medical billing and coding and medical records management

  • Current Certified Medical Coder (CPC, CCA, or CCS)

  • Knowledge of data management and visualization tools with the ability to intuitively present information

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with collaborative, positive mindset

  • Detail and deadline-oriented

  • Impeccable organization skills in documentation and prioritization

  • Constructive contribution to the team; respectful and supportive of colleagues

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.

Compensation:

$50K-$55K annually
