Payroll AdministratorLocation: Tracy, CASchedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Full-time, On-siteIndustry: Construction

Compensation: $60,000–$65,000 annually

A small, well-established construction company is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to support day-to-day office operations. This is a pivotal role focused on payroll processing and administrative support, with the potential for long-term growth into broader accounting responsibilities.

This team values transparency, a strong work ethic, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The ideal candidate will thrive in a tight-knit, fast-paced environment and bring confidence in managing time-sensitive processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Audit and process weekly timecards from HeavyJob and import into Foundation accounting software
  • Manage the onboarding process for union and non-union new hires, including W-4s, I-9s, and documentation verification
  • Handle garnishments, employee deductions, and related updates
  • Maintain up-to-date and compliant HR and union records
  • Assist with accounts payable related to overhead and office expenses
  • Oversee fleet and equipment records, including:
    • Loan payments
    • Insurance
    • DMV renewals
    • CARB compliance
    • Autopayment setup
  • Maintain accurate monthly inventory logs for all equipment and vehicles
  • Administer driver compliance programs, including pull notices and random testing

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Experience in payroll and administrative functions, ideally in construction or similar industries
  • Familiarity with HeavyJob and Foundation software preferred (not required)
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to process accuracy
  • Comfortable working in a male-dominated environment
  • Capable of independent work with minimal supervision
  • Must pass a background check and drug/alcohol screening
