We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Controller to manage comprehensive accounting, payroll, and administrative functions in a family-oriented, self-directed work environment focused on continuous improvement.
 
Controller Tasks:
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting documentation
  • Manage fixed asset accounts, depreciation schedules, and asset disposals/acquisitions
  • Reconcile brokerage statements and handle quarterly/annual reporting requirements
  • Process inter-company transactions and fuel rebates
  • Support annual audits and provide financial statements to banking partners
  • Calculate wage increase scenarios and manage profit sharing/401(k) accruals
  • Process weekly payroll
  • File monthly and quarterly payroll tax returns 
  • Handle annual W-2/W-3 filings and compensation reports
  • Manage new hire/termination processing and employee data maintenance
  • Process garnishments, child support requests, and state inquiries
  • Coordinate 401(k) and profit sharing administration, including employee distributions and loan processing
  • Prepare for quarterly insurance audits and manage premium splits
  • Handle inter-company insurance billing and captive insurance requirements
  • Reconcile insurance costs across multiple lines of coverage
  • Manage work compensation, liability, and collision insurance processes
  • Manage annual renewals for 181+ power units and 387+ trailers
  • Process vehicle registrations, transfers, and weight changes 
  • Handle specialized permits including IRP, IFTA, HVUT tax payments, and state-specific permits
  • Maintain compliance databases and inventory tracking for multiple entities
Controller Profile:
  • Proven experience in accounting, bookkeeping, and payroll management
  • Proficiency with Enrich Software, a plus
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll tax regulations
  • Experience with fixed asset management and financial statement preparation
  • Familiarity with insurance processes and premium reconciliation
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively
