TAX ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY

Our client, a prominent AmLaw 50 firm, is seeking an experienced Mid to Senior-Level Associate Attorney to join their distinguished Tax Practice Group. This opportunity is available in the firm’s HoustonAtlanta, and New York offices and offers the chance to work on sophisticated tax matters for a diverse array of domestic and international clients.

 

 

Candidate Profile:

  • JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
  • Active Bar Admission in the relevant jurisdiction, in good standing.
  • 4–6 years of substantive experience in tax law at a law firm or accounting firm.
  • Experience advising on federal income taxation issues, including corporate transactions, partnerships, and cross-border structures.
  • LL.M. in Taxation is preferred, but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex tax planning and compliance matters for high-profile clients.
  • Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
  • Soft Skills: Strong writing, research, analytical, and interpersonal skills, with a meticulous attention to detail.
 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tax advice related to mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, joint ventures, and internal restructurings.

  • Support transactional teams with tax structuring, diligence, and documentation for complex deals.

  • Advise on a wide range of domestic and international tax issues involving corporations, partnerships, and pass-through entities.

  • Collaborate with colleagues across practice groups and jurisdictions to deliver comprehensive tax solutions.

  • Draft and review memoranda, client alerts, transaction documents, and tax opinions.

  • Maintain and deepen technical expertise in evolving tax regulations and legislative developments.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation: Includes an expected base salary range of $265,000-$390,000, commensurate with experience and market factors, and eligibility for a discretionary bonus.
