Job Summary:
Responsible for 24/7 management of nursing and ancillary staff in assigned areas. Provides leadership, ensures quality patient care, maintains staffing levels, and supports clinical and operational goals. Promotes a positive, collaborative work environment and supports compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care delivery systems.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing and productivity levels.
  • Provide clinical support, mentoring, and leadership development.
  • Oversee hiring, orientation, staff education, and performance evaluations.
  • Participate in budget planning and quality initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols.
  • Conduct daily rounding on patients and staff; lead monthly staff meetings.
  • Engage in professional development and committee participation.
Qualifications:
 
RN license (Michigan).
  • Graduate of accredited nursing program; BSN required or in progress.
  • BLS and ACLS certification (if applicable to department).
  • Minimum 5 years clinical experience; 2 years in specialty; 1 year supervisory experience in acute care.
  • Strong leadership, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt in fast-paced or stressful environments.
Other Requirements:
 
  • Ability to perform RN duties as needed.
  • Proficient with modern computer and office equipment.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of age-specific patient care needs.
