Job Title: Injection Molding Process Technician/SupervisorLocation: Brighton, MIShift: 2nd Shift (4:00 PM – 12:00 AM)
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Injection Molding Process Technician/Supervisor to oversee our 2nd shift operations. This role is responsible for setting up, troubleshooting, and optimizing injection molding machines and processes to ensure high-quality production. Additionally, the position involves supervising production staff, ensuring safety and efficiency, and working collaboratively with the production team to meet company goals.
Set up and adjust injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and tools to ensure optimal performance.
Monitor production processes to ensure consistency in quality, cycle times, and efficiency.
Troubleshoot and resolve molding process issues, including defects, material flow problems, and mechanical malfunctions.
Supervise and support 2nd shift production team members, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
Conduct mold changes, tool adjustments, and machine startups/shutdowns as needed.
Maintain and enforce safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
Train and mentor machine operators and other team members on proper molding procedures and best practices.
Work closely with quality control personnel to address any product defects or deviations from specifications.
Document process changes, production logs, and maintenance reports as required.
Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to improve overall process efficiency and reduce downtime.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in injection molding process setup, troubleshooting, and supervision.
Education: High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in injection molding machine operation, mold setup, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of scientific molding principles is a plus.
Leadership: Prior supervisory or team lead experience in a manufacturing environment.
Problem-Solving: Strong ability to diagnose and resolve process and machine issues quickly.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and management.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced production environment.
