The Sales Representative will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, maintaining customer relationships, and representing the company within the railroad and transit sectors. This role requires frequent travel, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage both fieldwork and office responsibilities.
Build and maintain relationships with Class 1, Short Line, Transit authorities, and Railroad Contractors.
Travel up to two weeks per month, including overnight stays, to meet with clients and prospects.
Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding orders, invoicing, and purchase order management.
Support internal departments, including Repair, to ensure customer satisfaction and efficient operations.
Assist with planning and coordinating company participation in industry trade shows and events.
Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and economic indicators to support accurate forecasting and sales strategies.
Identify and pursue new customer accounts and business opportunities.
Maintain working knowledge and proficiency in the operation and use of all company products.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and sustain professional relationships.
Mechanical aptitude, with the ability to perform or learn basic small engine repair.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Self-motivated, energetic, and a collaborative team player with a record of exceeding performance goals.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
Valid driver’s license required.
