Front Desk / Counter Associate – Metal Fabrication Shop
Location: Corunna, MI
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
Compensation: $18–$20 per hour, based on experience

Position Overview
A locally owned metal fabrication shop in Corunna, MI is seeking a personable and detail-oriented Front Desk/Counter Associate. This role is ideal for someone with a manufacturing or fabrication background who enjoys working directly with customers, supporting custom projects, and contributing to a positive, energetic shop environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for customers, providing friendly and professional service.

• Answer phone calls, take orders, and assist customers with metal needs.

• Review and discuss customer prints, concepts, and design ideas for custom metal work.

• Create accurate, detailed hand-drawn sketches of customer projects (non-CAD) including all necessary dimensions, materials, and fabrication details.

• Complete work orders outlining required materials, measurements, and project specifications for the fabrication team.

• Handle cash transactions, receipts, and basic front counter sales.

• Maintain organized customer files, orders, and project details.

• Communicate clearly with customers and fabrication staff to ensure accuracy and project success.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing or fabrication background required.

• Strong knowledge of metals and basic fabrication processes.

• Ability to produce clear, accurate hand-drawn sketches and project details.

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

• Friendly, positive, and fun personality — must enjoy interacting with customers.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple orders at once.

• Basic cash-handling experience preferred.
