Our Senior Field Service Technician position combines technical precision with field variety — from tuning compressors and vacuum pumps to maintaining biogas systems.

Split your time between our North York facility and customer sites across Woodbridge and Guelph, with the opportunity for short international service trips throughout the year. You’ll work independently, represent the brand on-site, and help keep our clients’ operations running smoothly.

 

Senior Field Service Technician Details:

  • Up to $55/hr — based on experience and qualifications
  • Day Shift: Monday–Friday, minimal on-call rotation

Senior Field Service Technician Responsibilities

  • Perform daily checks and preventive maintenance on biogas systems (blowers, oil-flooded screw compressors, vacuum pumps, bio scrubbers, PSA upgrading systems, RNG compressors).
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues on compressors, blowers, pumps, and drives.
  • Install, start up, and commission compressed air systems and retrofits.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems, replace motors and valves, and optimize maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain service and maintenance logs using digital tools and report on all site activities.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and assist in preventive maintenance planning.
  • Work safely and professionally in gas environments, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Mentor junior technicians and collaborate with engineering and service teams.

 

Senior Field Service Technician Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of hands-on experience with compressed air or biogas/industrial equipment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability (VFDs, control panels, PLCs, instruments).
  • Experience with rotary equipment — compressors, blowers, pumps, or vacuum systems.
  • Knowledge of motor control, PLC, HMI/SCADA, and instrumentation (asset).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics.
  • Valid Ontario driver’s licence with a clean abstract and valid passport.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and pass a criminal background check.
  • Licensed Millwright or Industrial Electrician (preferred, not required).
  • Manufacturer training (Atlas Copco, Kaeser, Ingersoll Rand) considered a strong asset.
  • Safety certifications such as WHMIS, Fall Protection, and Confined Space Entry are preferred.
