Job Summary 

Chloeta is hiring a Community Injury Prevention Advisor to provide specialized technical expertise and research support for Injury Prevention Cooperative Agreements with a federal agency. This position will focus on designing, conducting, and analyzing research related to injury prevention in communities.  

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: No  

Job Classification: Permanent; Full-Time; FLSA Non-Exempt 

Duty Station: Oklahoma City, OK    

Travel:Up to 10%, contingent on business needs   

 

Duties/Responsibilities 

  • Conducts research studies and evaluations to assess community and environmental health risks in communities 

  • Collects, analyzes, and interprets data related to injury prevention and community health outcomes 

  • Advises program staff and agency partners on evidence-based injury prevention strategies, exposure mitigation, and risk reduction 

  • Monitors current scientific literature, federal guidance, and best practices in injury prevention 

  • Supports training and capacity building by developing educational materials and presenting research findings to stakeholders 

  • Ensures research and analysis meet scientific, ethical, and regulatory standards

Required Skills/Abilities 

  • Strong knowledge of injury prevention, and community health risk assessment 

  • Advanced skills in research methodology and biostatistics  

  • Ability to prepare peer-reviewed publications, technical reports, and presentations for diverse audiences 

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and with agency partners 

 

Education and Experience 

  • Required: Master of Public Health degree or higher, or Master of Science degree in a closely related field 

  • Required: Five (5) years of experience in community injury prevention and or field based public health practice 

  • Required: Experience in applying public health principles applicable to the science and evidenced-based practice of community-based injury control and prevention theories, program evaluation and interventions 

  • Required: Experience working with American Indian or Alaska Native communities 

 

Physical Requirements 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer 

  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, etc. 

  • Ability to travel for on-site visits
