Job Summary
Chloeta is seeking a detail-oriented Public Comment Analyst to support an Environmental project. This position will be responsible for collecting, reviewing, analyzing, and synthesizing public comments submitted during the environmental review process. The Analyst will ensure comments are accurately categorized, summarized, and integrated into reports that support regulatory compliance, decision-making, and project transparency.

Duty Station: Remote/Virtual
Travel: Up to 10%
Duties/Responsibilities
Collects and organizes public comments received through various channels
Reviews, codes, and categorizes comments using established protocols
Identifies key themes, issues, and concerns raised by stakeholders and summarizes findings
Drafts clear, accurate comment response matrices for inclusion in environmental documents
Supports the preparation of reports, comment summaries, and decision-support materials for project leadership and federal/state agency partners
Maintains data quality control to ensure accuracy and consistency of comment tracking
Collaborates with environmental planners, project managers, and regulatory specialists to integrate public input into project documentation
Ensures compliance with applicable federal regulations (e.g., NEPA) and agency-specific guidance for public involvement
Required Skills/Abilities
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
Excellent writing, editing, and summarization abilities.
Ability to manage and interpret large volumes of data and text.
Familiarity with NEPA and other federal/state environmental review processes a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with databases or comment management software preferred.
Strong organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
Education and Experience
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Public Policy, Communications, Natural Resources, or related field required.
Required: Experience with NPS PEPC (National Park Service Planning, Environment and Public Comment) website
Required: Prior experience with public comment analysis, stakeholder engagement, or technical writing.
Preferred: Experience working on environmental assessments, impact statements, or regulatory review processes
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, etc.
