The Controls Engineer collaborates closely with the business to enhance manufacturing excellence through technical support and effective execution.
 
Duties: Including but not limited to:
 
Technical Support (70%):
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on control systems at the Metal Casting Facility.
  • Manage a comprehensive range of tasks related to industrial automation and control systems, including but not limited to:
    • Programming Rockwell Automation PLC Controllers/Human Machine Interfaces (HMI).
    • Programming and maintaining variable frequency drives.
    • Collaborate with the manufacturing IT department to maintain production network infrastructure and handle data acquisition, schematics, and updates for all automation programs.
 
Equipment Safety (10%):
  • Actively participate in safety and machine guarding committees, addressing findings and implementing engineering controls.
  • Conduct detailed troubleshooting and analysis on production equipment, formulating and implementing solutions.
 
Project Assistance (10%):
  • Support the engineering and operations teams in implementing new equipment, providing expertise in project automation.
  • Partner with contractors during the implementation process and take ownership of the maintenance plan post-installation.
  • Provide hands-on technical oversight for equipment retrofits and upgrades.
 
Manufacturing Execution (10%):
  • Facilitate the collection, processing, and delivery of manufacturing data to the operations team, providing actionable feedback.
 
Qualifications: 
  • 5 years of manufacturing experience, with an emphasis on Rockwell Automation controls programming and troubleshooting.
  • 2-year Industrial Technology degree with 3 years of manufacturing experience, focusing on Rockwell Automation controls programming and troubleshooting is preferred.
  • Experience with robotic systems.
  • Strong understanding of industrial process controls.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
