We are seeking a Project Engineer responsible for Control Systems to oversee the core design of machine control systems and electronics architecture. This position will analyze and provide realistic recommendations on electrical components to ensure that designs meet project goals, machine requirements, and customer needs.
 
Duties:Including but not limited to:
 
  • Manage the coordination and overall integration of control systems design activities for engineering projects.
  • Collaborate with internal product groups to design machine control systems, user interfaces, wire harnessing, and overall electronics architecture.
  • Direct, review, or approve product design changes related to control systems.
  • Confer with management, production, and marketing staff to finalize product specifications.
  • Schedule, execute, and oversee testing of product design, operation, or repair of equipment.
  • Support, supervise, and assist Engineering and Assembly Technicians in building and testing prototypes and production machines.
  • Analyze production and field issues and create solutions.
  • Develop bills of materials and manage supplier quality, product reviews, and cost estimates.
  • Develop and implement policies, standards, or procedures for engineering and technical work.
  • Supervise assigned personnel and perform administrative functions such as reviewing reports and approving expenditures.
  • Follow safe design practices to prevent user injury and property damage.
  • Travel up to 15% of the time.
 
Qualifications:
 
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise the Controls and Electrical group in Engineering.
 
  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Mechanical, Industrial, Agriculture, or Electrical Engineering.
    • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
    • Experience in software development using Danfoss Plus+1 Guide, Parker IQAN, Simulink, or similar PLC/logic-based programming languages.
    • Understanding of robotics, automation, CAN J1939 Protocols, sensors, engines, and hydraulic controls preferred.
 
  • Communication Skills:
    • Ability to read, write, and comprehend documents and correspondence.
    • Ability to effectively present information to internal and external individuals and groups.
    • Provide informative and professional assistance to customers and co-workers, maintaining positive interpersonal relationships.
 
  • Mathematical Skills:
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
 
  • Computer Skills:
    • Experience in software development using Danfoss Plus+1 Guide, C, C++, or similar PLC/logic-based programming languages.
    • Proficiency in computer-aided design software (AutoCAD, 3D parametric modeling - SolidWorks/Inventor) and Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word.
 
  • Additional Skills:
    • Ability to identify the root cause of failed or defective parts and recommend and implement product design solutions.
    • Create robust designs, identify changes early in the design process, and recognize design commonality for cost-efficient product designs.
    • Produce accurate, professional, and error-free documents in a timely manner.
    • Strong knowledge of electronics, sensors, and DC electrical circuits preferred.
    • Ability to operate a forklift, simple mechanics tools, assembly hand tools, and assembly power tools.
 
Work Environment:
  • Typical office environment; exposure to loud noises, moving mechanical parts, and fumes may occur.
  • Personal protective equipment may be required in certain areas.
