We are seeking a proactive and resourceful Operations Supervisor to drive operational excellence by strategically leveraging available resources, implementing innovative processes, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This role is instrumental in achieving sustainable performance, improving team dynamics, and delivering superior customer value in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Objectives:
 
  • Customer Experience: Meet monthly production and maintenance efficiency targets
  • Employee Experience: Implement at least two process improvements annually and conduct two performance conversations per month with each team member
  • Leadership: Achieve a 4.5/5 average score on 360° reviews with 0.2% annual improvement
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 
Production, Quality, and Resource Planning (40%)
  • Collaborate with general foremen to align production with customer needs
  • Establish priorities and team assignments, ensuring clear communication and alignment
  • Monitor daily operations and proactively adjust schedules based on workforce availability and customer requirements
  • Ensure timely availability of supplies and resources for both production and maintenance teams
  • Maintain adequate stock of non-inventory production items
  • Track performance against goals and implement corrective actions as needed
Leadership and Team Development (40%)
  • Lead daily startup meetings and maintain a visible floor presence to build rapport and ensure quality standards
  • Train new hires on safety protocols, machinery operation, and department processes
  • Partner with other leaders to troubleshoot issues, identify risks, and drive improvements
  • Conduct regular one-on-one conversations and performance reviews
  • Encourage professional development and offer coaching opportunities
  • Address safety concerns and update procedures to ensure a safe and efficient work environment
Administrative and Compliance Responsibilities (20%)
  • Manage attendance, approve time-off requests, and maintain accurate team records in electronic systems
  • Coordinate Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) compliance, including inspections and training
  • Participate in interviews, onboarding, and orientation for new hires
  • Attend and contribute to meetings focused on coaching, safety, and broader business objectives
Qualifications:
Required:
  • High school diploma
  • 1–2 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing or maintenance environment (lead person, trainee, or similar role)
Preferred:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2–3 years of leadership experience, ideally in a foundry environment
