Position Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Elevator Violations Manager to join our team in Queens, NY. This critical role is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of elevator-related violations issued by local regulatory agencies, including the NYC Department of Buildings (DOB), Environmental Control Board (ECB), and other relevant authorities. The ideal candidate will ensure timely resolution, accurate documentation, and strategic compliance planning to reduce risk and maintain the company’s strong industry reputation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Violation Management:
    • Track and manage all open elevator violations (DOB, ECB, PVT, etc.) using internal systems and DOB NOW.
    • Coordinate corrective actions with field technicians, service managers, and clients to resolve violations promptly.
    • Prepare and file necessary documentation, affidavits, and forms to close out violations.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Stay up to date with NYC elevator codes, regulations, and inspection protocols.
    • Liaise with DOB inspectors and agency representatives to address compliance questions and scheduling issues.
    • Monitor recurring compliance deadlines and inspections to prevent future violations.
  • Client Communication:
    • Communicate with building owners, property managers, and clients regarding outstanding violations, required repairs, and timelines.
    • Provide guidance to clients on resolving issues and maintaining compliance with local elevator laws.
  • Reporting & Documentation:
    • Maintain organized records of all violations, resolutions, and supporting documentation.
    • Generate regular reports on open/closed violations for internal stakeholders and clients.
    • Analyze trends and recommend strategies to minimize repeat violations.
  • Administrative & Legal Support:
    • Coordinate with legal counsel when necessary for escalated violations or hearing appearances.
    • Assist with scheduling hearings and attending proceedings as required.

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience in elevator compliance, property management compliance, or municipal code enforcement.
  • Strong knowledge of NYC DOB elevator regulations and experience using DOB NOW and BIS systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and industry-specific compliance platforms.
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
