Job Title: Payroll Administrator:

Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll processing (minimum of 3 years required), payroll compliance, and wage reporting. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll for employees while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.

 

Key Responsibilities for the Payroll Administrator:

Payroll Administration

  • Process weekly payroll for field and office staff using "Computer Ease" but will be switching to Foundations.
  • Maintain employee time records and ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Manage wage garnishments, PTO tracking, and benefits deductions.
  • Ensure payroll taxes, direct deposits, and filings are completed on time.

Human Resources Support

  • Assist with recruitment and onboarding of new hires, including background checks and new hire paperwork.
  • Maintain employee files, certifications, and training documentation.
  • Support performance review process and track training deadlines.
  • Coordinate benefits enrollment and respond to employee questions.

Compliance and Office Support

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, OSHA requirements, and company policies.
  • Assist management with documentation for terminations, disciplinary actions, and safety reporting.
  • Support front office with occasional administrative tasks as needed.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in payroll processing.

  • Strong knowledge of prevailing wage reporting, payroll compliance, and labor law regulations.

  • Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel required).

  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with construction industry payroll strongly preferred.

  • Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.

  • Ability to train and guide staff on payroll procedures.

 

Compensation for the Payroll Administrator: $20 - $24 per hour (DOE)
