We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant specializing in litigation to join our team in Santa Fe. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive support to attorneys by managing case files, preparing legal documents, and coordinating litigation activities. This role requires excellent multitasking abilities, strong knowledge of legal procedures, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities for the Legal Assistant position:

• Maintain attorney(s) calendar and keep track of numerous court deadlines and hearings

• Administrative and document support for attorneys
• Arrange meetings and appointments and ensure they are calendared for attorneys and clients
• Provide effective and timely document and word processing
• Assist attorneys with managing deadlines
• Compose and proofread pleadings, documents, and correspondence
• Create and maintain legal computer and hard-copy files

• Process client files and documents
• Manage pleadings, depositions, interrogatories, document production
• Manage trial notebooks and trial prep for cases

Skills/requirements for the Legal Assistant position:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Advanced Microsoft Office, Outlook, and typing skills
• Experience with e-filing via New Mexico and Federal court systems
• A minimum of four years’ experience
• Must be a self-starter and take ownership of the work/projects to ensure completion
• Must be organized, detail oriented, and able to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines for multiple attorneys
• Must possess excellent time-management skills
• Must live in Santa Fe or be able to commute 

Compensation for the Legal Assistant position:

 $24 to $26 per hour (DOE)

• Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens
