Join Our Client’s Team as a Commercial Insurance Specialist

Are you a driven, solutions-oriented professional looking to accelerate your career in commercial insurance sales? Our client, a growing agency, is seeking a Commercial Insurance Specialist to join their team in Mississauga. This in-office role is ideal for a results-focused sales professional with a passion for business development and client service.

As a Commercial Insurance Specialist, you will be at the forefront of building and expanding the commercial portfolio through outbound prospecting, client engagement, and proactive sales activity. You'll work closely with clients to understand their business risks and deliver customized insurance solutions that support their long-term goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales & Business Development

    • Proactively build and manage a robust sales pipeline through outbound prospecting and inbound inquiries.

    • Develop and execute marketing initiatives to promote commercial insurance products and services.

    • Drive achievement of new business, growth, and profitability targets.

  • Client Consultation & Risk Assessment

    • Complete thorough risk assessments and conduct commercial inspections in line with underwriting standards.

    • Identify coverage needs and provide expert advice on risk management and insurance solutions.

  • Account Management & Retention

    • Review existing client policies to ensure coverage remains aligned with evolving business needs.

    • Respond to client inquiries, resolve concerns, and manage escalations to maintain high service standards.

  • Community Engagement & Brand Visibility

    • Represent the agency at business and community events to enhance visibility and network for opportunities.

    • Develop and maintain key relationships in the business community to support long-term growth.

What You'll Bring:

  • Experience & Education

    • 2–3 years of experience in commercial insurance sales and business development.

    • Post-secondary education in business, finance, insurance, or a related field.

  • Licensing & Designations

    • Valid General Insurance License (OTL or RIBO).

    • CIP or working toward a CIP/FCIP designation is a strong asset.

  • Skills & Attributes

    • A goal-oriented mindset with the ability to stay motivated despite obstacles.

    • Proven ability to grow market share through innovative and strategic thinking.

    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a client-first approach.

    • Strong organizational and time management skills for handling a diverse portfolio.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.

  • Willingness to travel for client visits and business events.

  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

  • Comfortable working directly with clients in a variety of environments.
